Angels Visit Cancer Treatment Centers
Angel On My Shoulder created Uplifting Angels in 1995 as its very first program.
In the fall and spring of the year, very special “thinking of you” deliveries are thoughtfully planned, prepared and coordinated by Mary Long, our Uplifting Angels Director. These uplifting packages are delivered to 77 hospitals and oncology clinics throughout the state to approximately 4,900 adults and 230 children. These caring gifts are lovingly designed to brighten the cancer patients’ day and let them know they are thought of in a very special way.
Uplifting Angels is blessed to have a wonderful bevy of amazing angels who graciously and generously offer their time and talents to deliver these gifts that carry messages of hope and support to those living with cancer. We applaud each and every one of them for their tireless efforts.

Dear Angel On My Shoulder, We want to extend a warm thank you to your organization for your generosity to the Pediatric Oncology Clinic at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Our daughter, Brooke (age 4) just completed treatment there for leukemia and also her treatments (chemo) for her leukemia for the past 2 ½ years. Throughout that time she received two (much loved) stuffed animals from your group. One she received early on and still loves it as one of her favorites. The second she received yesterday before she went into surgery to remove her port-a-cath. She held this stuffed animal the entire day yesterday – they even let her take it into surgery.
