Evening of Angels
The very first “Evening of Angels” was held in a luxurious Golden Eagle Log Home in Rhinelander, WI on September 20, 2008. Jay and Sarah Parmeter and Tod and Sharon Parmeter, owners of Golden Log Homes, graciously hosted this exquisite fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds were generously donated to benefit those living with or affected by cancer.
A very special thanks to Lynn Wiggins of Golden Eagle Log Homes; Lee Guenther, Dennis and Sam of Trig’s and to Capital Brewery for supplying top notch beers. An enormous round of applause to our wonderful volunteers for their hard work and dedicated efforts.
Over $10,000 was raised to support the many programs championed by Angel On My Shoulder. Approximately 158 participants came out to “sip and savor” with the Angels making this phenomenal event an overwhelming success.
Guests were afforded an insider’s tour of this amazing showcase home while enjoying over 25 wines from around the world along with an array of specialty beers from Wisconsin’s own Capital Brewery and specialty coffees from Eagle River Roasters–the aroma was enticing and gentle harp music by musically gifted, Linda Cannon, created a warm and relaxing atmosphere for all.
The night included appetizers, fine cheeses and desserts along with “colorama” pontoon rides on beautiful Lake Thompson. There was a silent auction containing exclusive items: A 3 Liter of 2002 Silver Oak Napa Valley w/2 Reidel glasses; 14K White Gold Antique Filigree .20 crt Diamond pendant; Martini gift set w/one 3 liter of VOX premium vodka, vermouth, shaker 2 martini glasses and an assortment of olives. A Premier Wine Table offered a unique opportunity to sample rare, vintage wines.
The night cumulated with a special drawing for a $1500 California Wine Weekend get away vacation package including airfare, private cottage and VIP tour of Rombauer Vineyard. The delighted winner was: Mary Plato of Wisconsin Rapids . . . CONGRATULATIONS!!
It was truly an Evening of Angels.
