Serve You Shares Holiday Spirit With Angel On My Shoulder

Milwaukee, Wis. - Employees of Serve You Custom Prescription Management, based in Wauwatosa, Wis., recently teamed up to offer good Samaritan help throughout the holiday season to Angel On My Shoulder (AOMS).
Serve You, lead by its president and AOMS board member Sharon Murillo, specializes in managing prescription drug benefits. The company, comprised of more than 40 employees, has adopted Angel On My Shoulder as its corporate charity.
“There are a number of worthy charitable organizations that need help,” explains Murillo, “especially during these challenging economic times. A few years ago we made the decision to pool our efforts and concentrate on one cause hoping to have a greater impact.”
During this holiday season, the employees of Serve You coordinated two activities to benefit AOMS: a company-wide competition to sell the Boston Store Community Day Coupons and a holiday Giving Tree.
Twice each year, Boston Store hosts Community Day, a fund-raising event that provides 501c nonprofit and school organizations with coupon booklets they can sell to raise money for their programs. For each booklet sold, the organization keeps 100% of the proceeds.  AOMS is one of the groups that is fortunate to benefit from this promotion.  To help raise funds for AOMS, Serve You held a competition among its employ
giving tree
ees to see who could sell the most Boston Store Community Day Coupon Booklets with the prize being a day of paid time off.  Staff booklet sales resulted in a $525 donation toward AOMS and the contribution grew from there. Lauri Schmitt, the winner of the contest, generously chose not to take the day off in lieu of Serve You donating her earnings from that day to AOMS. Serve You also agreed to match her earnings of one day of work and add that to the AOMS donation.
Serve You also established a Giving Tree as part of its holiday decorations. Each ornament on the Giving Tree featured an item employees could choose to donate to help AOMS fulfill the needs of campers and its gift baskets for cancer patients and their families.  In all, more than 80 items were donated.
“We’re proud to be a supporter of Angel on My Shoulder,” says Murillo. “And, we enjoyed being able to build on the season of giving to help such a worthwhile cause.”
